Toyota Hiace 300 H1

Product Description

In 2019, Toyota launched the sixth-generation H300 series of the Hiace, marking the beginning of a redesign that transformed its long-standing flat-nose design. The model now features an elongated front end, adopting a “safer” long-nose configuration reminiscent of the Alphard's design. The chassis retains its rear-wheel-drive layout.

After all, the HiAce H200 series is still in production. To avoid name duplication, the HiAce H300 series goes by different names in various regions: it's called GranAce in the Japanese market, Granvia in Taiwan, and in Southeast Asia it's known as either Majesty or Commuter. It also comes in two different front-end designs.

The Toyota Hiace HiAce H300 comes in several body styles, but the one in the bottom left corner—with steel wheels, black bumpers, and a flat roof—is the way to go!

However, likely due to fuel efficiency credit regulations, Toyota has yet to officially introduce the HiAce H300 series for domestic sales. Instead, parallel importers have beaten them to the punch, bringing in multiple batches of Middle East versions.

Piecing together information from parallel import websites reveals that these imported HiAce H300s are primarily equipped with Toyota's 7GR 3.5L V6 gasoline engine (codenamed GRH300), paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Initially compliant with China V emissions standards, models meeting China VI standards began appearing in 2021. Interior configurations include 7-, 9-, 10-, and 13-seat layouts. Base models start around ¥320,000, with most variants priced between ¥400,000 and ¥500,000. Customized versions can reach ¥700,000 to ¥1,100,000.

Regarding modified versions, the H300 series' long-hood design offers the advantage of front-engine placement. Its body is longer than the Alphard, reaching 5.9 meters (within blue license plate limits), with a wheelbase of 3.86 meters. Consequently, many HiAce H300 units are purchased by modification shops for conversion into 6- or 4-seat “business vehicles” sold at premium prices. Their interior finishes resemble those of the Mercedes-Benz V-Class.

Below are some modification examples to share.
